Nerding out on more self-hosting and offline tech.

Built a beast of a machine around a MINISFORUM BD795i SE. It’s still a mostly pre-integrated solution, but nice to build a PC for home use again for the first time in ~15 years. Thankfully secured 64GB of DDR5 before prices went mental. Running IncusOS on the metal with a set of NixOS containers and VMs on top.

Next up is GrapheneOS as both a phone and everyday PC. Now that AOSP has shipped desktop mode I may finally edge towards my goal of a pocket-sized computer I can pair with a display and keyboard. I’ve been using an iPad for this purpose since 2018, but due to the size have had to also keep a seperate phone. Hopefully this will let me collapse that to one device.

Work is continuing to maintain a good interest/frustration ratio. Still an endless list of oddities to solve, but in a mostly good way.
